Implementing Cisco Collaboration Devices

The worldwide communication landscape is constantly changing. Just a few years ago, hardly anyone knew what a smartphone was and terms like Telepresence were reserved for sci-fi movies. Now, as the evolution of Voice over IP (VoIP) continues, Cisco has transformed from a voice-centric certification focus to one of Collaboration. Collaboration now supports a more vast feature set, software, hardware, and knowledge base necessary to implement and maintain the system. Welcome to the real world, Neo!

Just as in the Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching courses, here you will gain the “tip of the iceberg” of a large spectrum of concepts and technologies that will aid you in your technology journey towards certification (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE Collaboration), or in implementing collaboration systems in the real world. By time you are done, you will have the knowledge necessary to understand and manage a Cisco CUCM, CME, and Unity-based system.

12. Cisco IP Phones: VLANs at the Core (11 min)
Because the CCNA Collaboration series has no prerequisite requirements, we added this "VLANs at the Core" Nugget to provide a high-level view of VLANs before diving into Voice VLANs. If you already have a conceptual knowledge of VLANs, you can skip this video.
13. Cisco IP Phones: Configuring Voice VLANs (11 min)
Jeremy guides you through configuring voice VLANS, from discovering devices with CDP and LLDP to checking PoE power budgets and consumption, and more!

22. Cisco CME: Global Telephony Settings (9 min)
Before any other CME configurations can apply, you first must configure the global telephony settings in CCP, which is the focus of this Nugget!
23. Cisco CME: Implementing Users and the CME Web GUI (12 min)
There are three levels of CUCME users you can create: system, customer, and phone. In this Nugget, Jeremy explores the differences between them, and turns on the "middle tier" GUI for managing basic CUCME features.
24. Cisco CME: Adding Phones and Users with CCP (13 min)
Once you have the base telephony service features configured on the CUCME router, you're ready to add your phones. In this Nugget, Jeremy walks through the configuration and verification on a Cisco 7960 IP Phone on an emulated (GNS3) CUCME platform.

Creating individual dial peers for each destination can be painful. Learn strategies for using dial peer wildcards that will simplify your life.
28. Cisco CME: Moving Dial Plan Skills to CCP (13 min)
Cisco's aim for the CICD series is to create VoIP system administrators without having to also create IOS experts. To allow this to occur, the CCP graphic interface allows you (quite easily) to configure VoIP and POTS dial peers along with many common features. Join Jeremy as he unpacks this capability, and also shares how to handle a severed leg (non-certification bonus information).
29. Cisco CME: Implementing COR Call Restrictions with CCP (16 min)
Class of Restriction (COR) is a Cisco phrase that replaced the old PBX Class of Service because it was an overlapping QoS acronym. This is easily one of the most confusing features in the Cisco voice realm and Jeremy does a masterful job of unpacking this capability. Be warned! There are many incorrect explanations of this feature (even in the Cisco Press CICD book). Dive in to understand!
30. CME Features: Creating a Phone Directory (6 min)
Get rid of the paper or PDF-based phone directories and convert over to using CME's directory feature! Jump in to discover how easy it is to create and manage your corporate phone directory using CCP.

48. Unity Connection: Understanding User Templates (6 min)
In the Unity realm, the user templates are where all the action happens (the users themselves aren't very special at all)! Develop an understanding of the key elements of the user templates and Unity Class of Service (CoS), as well as your user creation options in Unity.
49. Cisco IM and Presence: What is IMP and Jabber (11 min)
As we transition into the last major product suite of the CICD course, the first logical question that should cross your mind is, "What is it and what does it do?" That's exactly what you learn in this Nugget as Jeremy weaves his way through IMP and Jabber features, connections, and communication.
50. Cisco IM and Presence: Configuring Jabber Clients (17 min)
